The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority- Seaport building was illuminated in blue colored light in observance of World Maritime Day on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The event is part of the call from the International Maritime Organization member states to join this yearly initiative by lighting up iconic building, bridges, maritime ports, ships, monuments and other landmarks in blue light in the evening of Sept 26.
The celebration has its roots in 1978 wherein mariners around the world were encouraged to promote awareness about the maritime industry and its vital role in world trade and economic growth.
