SUBIC BAY FREEPORT–The Department of Tourism – Region III, in partnership with key dive stakeholders, launched the first Travel Breathe Dive (TBD) initiative in Subic Bay, marking the third destination under the TBD program since its inception in 2022.

Despite initial concerns about murky waters, dive visibility exceeded expectations, captivating participants with Subic’s hidden wreck treasures and sparking strong interest in further exploration.

An open forum during the event allowed for discussions on the challenges and opportunities in Subic Dive Tourism. DOT Region VII shared valuable insights from their own successful dive site developments, providing guidance for our region’s efforts.

Among the resource speaker during the forum is Ram Yoro, a renowned underwater photographer and seasoned wreck dive. He presented Subic’s wrecks and history and highlighted the untapped potential of these underwater treasures.

With active engagement and shared ideas, the event laid a solid foundation for Subic Bay’s resurgence as a premier wreck dive destination.
