Aboitiz Power Distribution and Subic EnerZone Corporation signs with De La Salle Lipa to empower future Electrical Engineers

Aboitiz Power Distribution Unit and Subic EnerZone Corporation has formalized its partnership collaboration with the De La Salle Lipa (DLSL), Lipa City, Batangas after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in a simple ceremony held at the DLSL Boardroom on August 15, 2024.

The event was attended by key representatives from both organizations. Subic EnerZone was led by President and COO Dante Pollescas, AVP for Customer Service Group and General Office Engr. Jay Navarro, and SAVP of Aboitiz Power Distribution Unit Human Resources, Belen Catanduanes.

Representing De La Salle Lipa were Chancellor Dr. Merlin Teodiza Suarez, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academics – College Dr. Nerissa Lucasia, Dean of the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) Engr. Cherrie Villafuerte, and Director of Internationalism, Grace Sanchez.

In a virtual message, Anton Mari G. Perdices, SVP and COO of Aboitiz Power Corporation – Distribution, emphasized the importance of this partnership in nurturing the next generation of engineers and leaders.

Chancellor Suarez in her speech proudly highlighted that two DLSL alumni are currently part of the Malvar EnerZone team, a business unit of Aboitiz Power DU in Lipa City.

Pollescas expressed his excitement about this collaboration, underscoring the shared vision of both organizations to empower the future through education and innovation.

Catanduanes also shared her thoughts on the partnership, stating how this initiative aligns with Aboitiz Power’s commitment to community development and capacity building.

This MoU and MoA signing marks the third of such collaborations.

 The first signing was with Bataan Peninsula State University on February 13, 2024, followed by the second at Saint Louis University in Baguio City on May 27, 2024. The partnership between Aboitiz Power and DLSL signifies a continuous effort to invest in the educational sector and support the growth of future professionals. (PR)
