8.5M worth of liquid cocaine seized from Colombian national

Operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated approximately 1,350 milliliters of liquid cocaine worth Php 8,522,400.00 that was seized from a Colombian national following a controlled delivery operation at Barangay San Antonio, Makati city on Tuesday (June 25).

The PDEA-Central Luzon identified the arrested suspect as Santiago Francisco Amado Sopo a.k.a Antonio Cordero, male, 32 years old, a Columbian national.

The parcel containing the illegal substances was intercepted at the Port of Clark last June 21, 2024.

“The liquid cocaine originated in Colombia was concealed in a shipment that raised suspicions during routine inspection at the port. The discovery of the drugs prompted PDEA to launch a controlled delivery operation targeting the consignee in Makati City”, team leader said.

Recovered from the suspect were one (1) brown box three (3) plastic bottle containers each containing liquid cocaine; two (2) identification cards and one (1) cellular phone.

The operation was conducted by the combined efforts of operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, PDES IS, PDEA NCR, Bureau of Custom- Port of Clark, PNP AVSEC 3, Makati SDEU, Makati CPS.

A non bailable offense of section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the apprehended suspect.
