ZAMBALES – The Philippine Fleet (PF) celebrated its 86th anniversary and underscored its resolve to become a modern and responsive fleet through this year’s theme “Cultivating People, Enhancing Processes and Mastering Platforms through Practice,” in a ceremony held at the Naval Operating Base (NOB) Subic.

Philippine Navy (PN) Flag Officer in Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., graced the ceremony along with PF Commander, Rear Adm. Renato David, other senior officers, reservists, stakeholders, and civilian human resources.

In his remarks, Adaci recognized the Fleet’s significance as the vanguard of the seas that has consistently shown firm resolve in facing various adversities from the trials of World War II to modern-day threats such as piracy and terrorism.

“The PhilFleet leadership continues to match our personnel’s dedication, sacrifice, and professionalism with an unwavering commitment to their personal and professional growth, primarily through comprehensive training and mentorship programs,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rear Adm. David pointed out numerous reasons to rejoice in marking this anniversary.

“This milestone represents not only a period of transition but also an important milestone in our fleet’s history. It serves as a reminder of the significant strides we have made towards the growth and development of our organization,” the Fleet Commander remarked.

This celebration was likewise dedicated to the Fleet’s illustrious past and enduring legacy of service, sacrifice, and professionalism. While honoring the men and women who served in its ranks, the Fleet has reaffirmed commitment to its mission and indispensable role in safeguarding the Philippines’ maritime heritage for generations to come.
