91st IB, 307 CDC join the Philippine Army Nationwide Blood Donation Activity

BALER, Aurora-The Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion and 307 Community Defense Center (CDC), 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG) joined the “Philippine Army-Wide Blood Donation Activity” in this capital town (Baler) of Aurora as part of their tradition of donating blood in order to help save more lives held at Camp Jaime Bitong, Sr., Barangay Calabuanan, here.

Lt. Col. Julito B. Recto, Jr., commander of 91st IB said that the nationwide blood letting activity is in partnership with the 307th CDC in support to the 127 Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army with the Theme: “Dugo Ko, Dugo Mo, Alay sa Pilipino para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

Recto said that the success of the activity is through the support of the line agencies particularly the Aurora Provincial Health Office, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), The Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles Inc., Alpha Kappa Rho, Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity, 307th Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion and Reserve Officer Training Corps from 4 colleges in Aurora.

“We are grateful for their usual support including stakeholders who always there to support our activity. We have more than 300 participants in this bloodletting activity. Happy 127th Founding Anniversary,” Recto said.

On the other hand, Major Ron Michael Soriao, Director of 307CDC said that a total of 139 blood donors or 139 bags or 69,500cc were collected to the blood donors to be used by the people of Aurora in need of blood.

“We are glad for the full support of our blood donors from our Reservist and ROTC cadets from Mount Carmel College, Lyceum of the East-Aurora, Aurora State College of Technology and Wesleyan University-Philippines Aurora Campus. Congratulations for the very successful conduct of bloodletting today. See you all again,” Soriao said.

Major Edward Pineda, Battalion Commander of Aurora Ready Reserve Battalion expressed his sincerest thanks for the fruitful activity.

“Let us continue this activity, we can all help save lives by giving blood and encouraging others to do so too. We can help others in need. By donating blood, we were able to actively participate in a life-saving endeavor for the sake of our community,” Pineda said.

Dhanmark Paul Roque, Aurora Provincial Blood Program Coodinator said that through the activity the people of Aurora will be benefited.

“The collected units of blood can greatly help in augmenting the blood need of the province and cater to many patients more so in times of emergencies,” he said. (Jason de Asis)
