BALER, Aurora-The Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion has deployed 312 troops in their area of operations (AO) in the whole province of Aurora including the towns of Gabaldon and Bongabon, Nueva Ecija in support to law enforcement operation in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Lt. Col. Julito B. Recto, Jr., commander of 91st IB said that the move is to ensure the safety and security of the people in their AOR, as they exercise their rights to cast their votes today.
“So far, the peace and order situation in or area of operations remains very much under control. We scattered additional personnel to augment our PNP, Commission on Election (Comelec) and other security forces in the clustered voting centers,” Recto said.
He added that the deployment is in support to the directive of the 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division and Comelec securing the entire province and the two towns in Nueva Ecija under their control to ensure a safe, peaceful and orderly election.
Recto together with his Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) are now visiting the different polling places to help Department of education (DepEd) and other concerned agencies to ensure that the electoral process is secure, accurate, free, and orderly.
“We are prepared to address any possible scenarios in our AO and guarantee the security of the people’s vote for a fair and transparent election process. Our soldiers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure the safety of all stakeholders involved in the BSKE 2023,” he said.
He added that the 91st IB is in close coordination with the Comelec, local government units, other law enforcement agencies to implement strict security measures to deter any disruption or violence before, during and after the election period. (Jason de Asis)
