INFANTA, Pangasinan- Three fishermen from Subic, Zambales were found dead by their companions while 11 others were injured after their fishing boat collided with a commercial vessel west of this town’s coastal waters early Tuesday morning.
In a report received from Coast Guard station of the said town, casualties were identified as; F/B Dearyn boat captain Dexter Laudesia, 47 years old; Romeo Mejico, 38 and Benedict Uladandino,62, all from Barangay Calapandayan , Subic, Zambales.
According to one of the surviving fishermen, Johnny Manlolo, at about 4:20 Tuesday morning, their fishing boat collided with an identified commercial vessel bound south causing it to capsize while in the west of Pangasinan waters.
Eleven others were rescued by its three service boats namely Antonie, Dearyn Six and Dearyn Eight and immediately took the victims at Barangay Cato of this town and reported the matter to the local authorities.
Survivors were identified as : Johnny Manlolo, 40; Estelito Sumayang, 47; Mario An,50; Mandy An, 22; Michael An, 37; Gino Anpon, 30; John Michael Nogas, 27; Noriel Tolores, 27; William Asontista, 38; Darwin Mejia, 32 and Reymark Bautista,30, all of Calapandayan.
Bodies of the casualties were brought to the Gabuyo-Perez Funeral Service by the Rural Health Unit of Infanta and have already sent messages to the families of the dead.
