ZAMBALES – A contingent from the visiting Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) headed by the commanding officer of Naval Replenishment Unit (NRU) Asterix, Lt. Cmdr. Bucky Branscombe made a courtesy visit to Naval Operating Base (NOB) Subic on Monday, Sept. 18.
Offshore Combat Force (OCF) Commander, Commo. Edward Ike De Sagon received the visiting skipper and his party following the arrival honors accorded them.
The OCF Commander formally welcomed them to the country as part of the RCN’s two-vessel visiting contingent.
NRU Asterix arrived at Rivera Wharf, Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) on September 16 to join HMCS Ottawa in conducting a goodwill visit to the Philippines. This interaction further contributes to the long-standing goodwill and camaraderie between the Philippine Navy and the RCN toward promoting naval diplomacy and cooperation.
