Subic Enerzone and Aboitiz Foundation turned over new handwashing facility to 700 pupils and teachers of Asinan Elementary School

OLONGAPO CITY– Subic EnerZone Corporation and Aboitiz Foundation, together with Manila Water Foundation Inc., recently turned over new handwashing facilities at Asinan Elementary School in Olongapo City.

This project is in support of the WASH in Schools (Wins) Program of the Department of Education and its Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).

The newly constructed facility provides the following features: 10 faucets, foot-pedal operated with the provision of a soap dish per faucet; 1 meter of physical distancing; a canopy; and appropriate co-branded facility signage.

In his speech about the project and partnership with the school and Manila Water Foundation during the turnover of the facility, Engr. Justin Jay Navarro, Subic EnerZone AVP for Customer Service and General Office, said, “We are grateful for our partnership with Manila Water Foundation and Dep Ed Olongapo City. This project will help the school in the intervention to help facilitate the safe return of pupils, teachers, and staff upon resumption of the face-to-face classes, and this project promotes the habit of proper handwashing.Through our Corporate Social Responsibility programs, we will continue to collaborate and partner with Dep Ed Olongapo City to promote a safe and conducive learning environment in the school”.

Over 700 pupils, teachers, and staff will benefit from this project. The Subic EnerZone and Aboitiz Foundations have been collaborating with the Manila Water Foundation since 2021. Past beneficaries include Old Cabalan Integrated School in 2021. Olongapo City Elementary School and Gordon Heights National High School in 2022, and the latest is Asinan Elementary School in Olongapo City. (PR)
