OLONGAPO CITY– In celebration of World Tourism Month, Regional Director Richard G. Daenos, PhD shares important updates on Central Luzon Tourism and valuable insights on Tourism and Green Investments in his speech as Guest of Honor and Speaker at the Olongapo Tourism Summit 2023 held on September 12 at SMX Convention Center Olongapo.
Spearheaded by the City Tourism Office of Olongapo in collaboration with the Department of Tourism – Region III, the event anchors on the #WTD23 theme of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) that underscores the importance of green investments (people, planet, prosperity) as one of the driving factors in sustaining a continuous tourism recovery and growth.
More than 100 participants consisting of representatives from tourism related enterprises, college instructors, and students attended the activity. Towards the end of the session, the audience were left with a question on what contribution, big or small, can they offer to the world as industry practitioners, educators, and youth to help shape the future of sustainable tourism.
