Kaugnay Media Defense Corps, Incorporated renamed to One FortMag Media

BALER, Aurora-The Kaugnay Media Defense Corps Inc. (KMDCI) finally changed it name to One FortMag Media during the media fellowship held at Pahingahan Complex, Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.

The renaming to One FortMag Media was made after the oath taking of the officers led by their President Jason de Asis of TV5, PNA and RTV Baler together with the National and local media personalities here in Central Luzon.

Based on Resolution Number 01-2023, the motion of Rogie Pangilinan of Central Luzon News Online TV 101.3FM based in Pampanga was unanimously approved by the group. It stated in the resolution that the present organizational name KMDCI seems no longer appropriate due to some changes, innovating, the same, has undergone particularly in its structure and coverage.

There is a dire need to change the organizational name which will capture the entirely of the organization in relevance to its goal, mission and vision, jurisdiction and function to the benefit of the public.

The One FortMag Media will now cover not only the 7th ID but all major Philippine Army units or tenants of Fort Magsaysay. Part of it is to furnish all agencies, private and public the organization is allied to, for their rightful information.

“Inasmuch that this is the second time around for myself, being elected as President, doubles my excitement and pleasure, in renewing my burning commitment to the organization in the realization of its mission and vision. Rest assured of my dedication to the responsibilities coupled with being the President of this prestigious organization,” de Asis said.

Major General Andrew Costelo, commanding general of 7th ID thanked the media partners in information dissemination who attended the media fellowship and gatherings despite their busy schedules.

“This is the first time this year that we have a simple meet and greet and we make it special this time because we are having it together with other Philippine Army Military Units in line with our one Fort Magsaysay Concept. We have toured you around Fort Magsaysay to show you that this military reservation is not only a home of 7th ID but of other Philippine major army units also,” Costelo said.

Costelo congratulated the officers led by de Asis during the activity. “On behalf of the men and women of the 7th infantry division, allow me to extend my gratitude to all of you for being our loyal partners in information dissemination. Keeping our public informed about the programs and activities of the command and our line units in connection with the Philippine Army’s campaign to strengthen our internal security operations and territorial defense operations is vital to its success. May we continue our strong partnership, collaboration, and unity for our people here in Central and Northern luzon.

Under my command, we will intensify our information operations through our division public affairs office and our S7s in the brigades and battalions for us to attain our mission objectives. Napalaki po ng ginagampanang role ng ating media sa pagpapalaganap ng tamang impormasyon, kaya naman po lubos ang aming suporta sa inyo. Ang responsableng pamamahayag ay pundasyon ng pagkakaroon ng well-informed na publiko,” Costelo said.
