91st IB starts to strengthen Aurora Reserve Force with the Regular Force towards territorial defense

BALER, Aurora-The Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion starts to strengthen the 307th Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (307ARRIBn) with the Regular Force based at Aurora Trading Center, Barangay Calabuanan, here on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Lt. Col. Julito B. Recto, Jr., Commander of 91st IB said that the move was made to strengthen the reserve force and the regular force to have the same organizational structure and expertise towards territorial defense.

The visit of Recto is one of the 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division’s directives to strengthen the Reservist interoperability towards territorial defense dubbed “Kaugnay ang Laang Kawal”.

During the mustering of Ready Reserve Battalion, Recto said that there is a need to beef up its organizational structure of the reserve force with the same structure of the 91st IB.

“The personnel of Reservist should mirror on what we have in the regular force in the battalion, and hopefully within 2 months the 307RRIBn will finish the first step. After that, we will prepare the reservist to have an on-the-job-training inside the camp and in the actual field,” Recto said.

He added that more interoperability trainings will be lined-up for the Reservist in the province of Aurora.

“Whether they are Reservist or active-duty soldier, it will make no differences in their organizational developments, skills, expertise, combat trainings among others as one team towards into territorial defense aiming to protect our people and securing our land to foster sustainable peace and development,” he said.

A complete set of Philarpat uniforms were given at the 307CDC Office to Aurora Reservist in collaboration with the 3rd RCDG, Reserve Command and 7th Infantry Kaugnay Division’s Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADCRRA) Col. Harold Anthony F. Pascua.

Relative to this, Executive Officer Major Marcelo Gonzales who represent the Battalion Commander Major Edward Pineda said that the ARRIBn will continue to cooperate to the fullest level to support the programs of 7ID and 3rd RCDG.

“Getting the mentorship from the active-duty counterparts will help us to improve ourselves quickly through continues education and training,” Gonzales said. (Contributed story by Jason de Asis)
