SM Cares advocates for creating safe spaces for breastfeeding

The most amazing, fun and global event, Hakab na 2023 was held recently at SM City Olongapo Central in celebration of National Breastfeeding Month, in partnership with Breastfeeding Pinays (BFP)Olongapo.

The said event was participated in by 100 breastfeeding moms, with the assistance of City Health Office medical volunteers and the Rotary Club of Downtown Olongapo.

BFP conducted lectures on Breastfeeding and Skin Care, Breastfeeding and Oral Health Care and Breastfeeding and Working from Home.

As the World Health Organization focuses on promoting breastfeeding in the workplace, SM Supermalls provides accessible and safe spaces for nursing mothers through 80 breastfeeding stations available for customers and employees across SM malls nationwide. The SM Cares Program on Women and Breastfeeding Mothers promotes breastfeeding to foster the natural bond between a mother and her child.

Atty. Pearl Joan Turley, SM Supermalls Assistant Vice President and SM Cares Program Director for Women, shares: “SM Cares is fully committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all its patrons, and the “Free to Feed: Creating Safe Spaces for Breastfeeding” campaign is a testament to that commitment. By promoting breastfeeding in the workplace and beyond, we strive to empower mothers and celebrate the natural bond between mother and child.”
