Crying tears of joy: as one of dependents received free education deal during the renewal of MOP between 91st IB and Lyceum of the East-Aurora

BALER, Aurora- A 2nd year Bachelor of Science in Criminology students of Lyceum of the East-Aurora (LEA) could not hold back her tears of joy for the kindheartedness of a military top official and the owner of LEA at Barangay Florida, Maria Aurora, Aurora on Friday, August 11, 2023.

During the signing of memorandum of partnership between Lt. Col. Julito B Recto, Jr., commander of Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion and Engineer Jaime S. Gose owner of LEA, Donalyn Blanco cried out loud, saying that the educational scholarships to recognized former rebels and their dependents who wish to earn an education are helpful and commendable.

She said that the scholarship given to them was a big aid for their family as they are returning back to mainstream society in order to have a good quality education.

Blanco could not stop crying when narrating how she struggled to continue to study for her future.

“I thanked God for sending us good Samaritan, we have now a chance to become productive members of society, our lives and futures will be saved,” Blanco said in front of the 22 ex-rebels and dependents.

She also expressed gratitude to 91st IB and Lyceum for the assistance and help to them.

On the other hand, Recto said that the MOP is part of the 91st IB’s commitment in assisting ex-rebels and dependents who wanted to live normally and productive in the community.

“We guarantee Blanco, and the rest of our scholars, that we will continue to assist them to provide scholarship program. We also encourage the communist terrorist group to lay down their arms and be united with the government. Your 91st IB will help you to become one of our scholars so that you will have a brighter future,” he said.

Recto also expressed his sincerest thanks ang gratitude to Engineer Gose for the partnership to which will help their scholars to have access in LEA as this is part of their mission to provide quality education for the scholars.

Engr. Gose who is the president of LEA vows to continue to provide scholarship grants together with the help of 91st IB.

“Our scholarship grants will continue to reach and complete their higher education,” he said. (Jason de Asis)
