91st IB to beef up Aurora Reservist interoperability towards territorial defense

BALER, Aurora-The Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion will beef up the Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion to strengthen interoperability towards territorial defense in the province of Aurora.

Lt. Col. Julito B. Recto, Jr., commander of 91st IB said in an interwiew on Sunday that the pronouncement was made during the executive meeting and talk to troops led by Col. Harold Anthony F. Pascua, Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADCRRA) of the 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division, Philippine Army based from Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Recto said that the “Kaugnay ang Laang Kawal” project is to strengthen the interoperability of nine ready reserved units and regular forces under the area of responsibilities (AOR) of the 7th ID, for territorial defense.

“Aurora is the pilot program of the 7th ID and the Philippine Army’s Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion will be a model as what Pascua said during the gatherings held at Laang Sibol Hall, 91st IB headquarter located in Barangay Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora. We will help our reservist to include interoperability trainings among others,” Recto said.

The battalion commander said that the move is part of the Kaugnay Division’s organizational developments, current innovations and best practices as one Team.

“We are pleased to share our expertise and knowledge to boost the morale of our reservists guided by our ADCRRA, 7th ID and 3rd RCDG in our advocacy to protect our people and securing our land to foster sustainable peace and development,” he said.

Recto added that the reservist will be given complete set of Philarpat uniform will be given which will greatly help them in times of unanticipated events.

“Rest assured that the 91st IB will continue to strengthen the strategy of “unity” and “serve” as the driving force to achieve greater heights of the AFP and for the betterment of our reservist,” Recto ended.
