NUEVA ECIJA–The Army Artillery Regiment (AAR), Philippine Army participated in sling load and air assault artillery training alongside the Alpha Battery, 2-11 FA Battalion, 25th Infantry Division Artillery (DIVARTY) led by Cpt Levy C Ulanday during PH-US Combined Exercise Salaknib 2023 on March 26-27, 2023 in Brgy Sagana, Laur, Nueva Ecija.
The training included sling-loading of towed howitzers, high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicles and artillery ammunition to all-weather, medium-lift Chinook and Black Hawk helicopters.
Training for sling load and air assault artillery allows for quick emplacement of artillery beyond the forward line of troops, fast execution of fire mission, and rapid extraction of the artillery equipment and personnel.
