SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE, Zambales — The Subic Bay Freeport welcomed the return of the cruise vessel MS Piano Land on Monday, marking its second port call and reinforcing Subic’s position as a growing hub for international cruise tourism.

The ship arrived carrying more than 1,000 passengers and approximately 400 crew members, underscoring the Freeport’s increasing appeal among global cruise operators.

The vessel’s return highlights the continued recovery and expansion of the tourism sector, as well as the rising interest of international cruise lines in including Subic in their regional itineraries.

Upon arrival, passengers disembarked to explore the Freeport’s rich cultural heritage, scenic attractions, and local establishments. Tourism stakeholders extended a warm welcome through organized activities, including guided tours, cultural presentations, and visits to nearby historical landmarks, beaches, and shopping areas.

“This second visit of MS Piano Land is a strong indication of Subic’s rising prominence in the global cruise tourism market,” said Atty. Kristofer Martin Roman, Deputy Administrator for Port Operations of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).

“We remain committed to delivering excellent service and creating memorable experiences for all our guests. The influx of visitors is also expected to provide a significant boost to local businesses, including restaurants, transport services, and souvenir shops, benefiting the wider community,” Roman added.

The vessel is scheduled to remain in port for the day before proceeding to its next destination.
