Family members of slain Claretian missionary priest Fr. Rhoel D. Gallardo joined the cast and crew of the meta-documentary film Seeds of Peace: The Life of Fr. Rhoel Gallardo during its premiere screening at SM City Olongapo Central on Thursday, March 18, 2026.
The film tells the story of Fr. Rhoel—his life, faith, and sacrifice in Basilan—which continue to inspire peace, courage, and service.
Born and raised in Olongapo City, Fr. Gallardo was ordained in 1994. He was later assigned to a parish in Tumahubong, Sumisip, Basilan. On March 20, 2000, he, along with several teachers and students, was abducted by the extremist group Abu Sayyaf. They were held captive for 44 days, and on May 3, 2000, he was executed by his captors.
In 2021, the process for the beatification of Fr. Gallardo was formally opened.
The Seeds of Peace: The Life of Fr. Rhoel Gallardo will be shown to theaters nationwide on March 20, 2026.
