PRO3 Deploys 2,000 Police Personnel Across Central Luzon for LIGTAS SUMVAC 2026

PAMPANGA — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) will deploy around 2,000 police personnel across Central Luzon as part of its security preparations for “LIGTAS SUMVAC 2026,” aimed at ensuring a safe, orderly, and secure summer vacation season.

The deployment is in line with the focused agenda of the Philippine National Police which prioritizes enhanced police visibility and strengthened law enforcement operations nationwide.

PRO3 Regional Director Jess B. Mendez said the entire police force in Central Luzon is now on heightened alert status and ready to provide security coverage from March 29 to May 31, 2026, a period when thousands of travelers are expected to visit various tourist destinations across the region.

“In line with the directive of our Chief PNP, we are strengthening police visibility and ensuring proactive deployment of our personnel to safeguard the public during this summer season. Our priority is clear—to protect lives, secure communities, and ensure safe travel for all,” Mendez said.

As part of the operational plan, PRO3 will intensify foot and mobile patrols and establish Police Assistance Desks and Centers (PADs/PACs) in key areas such as bus terminals, airports, seaports, major highways, tourist destinations, and other public convergence areas.

The regional police office will also deploy Road Safety Marshals to assist motorists and manage traffic flow along major thoroughfares to ensure safer and more convenient travel during the peak summer period.

Mendez further directed all police commanders in the region to strengthen coordination with local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), government agencies, and volunteer groups to promote a whole-of-community approach in maintaining public safety.

To further reinforce operational capability, PRO3 will mobilize its force multipliers and auxiliary partners, including the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and various radio communication groups, to support law enforcement operations, particularly in crowded areas where criminal elements may attempt to exploit increased public activity.

“Security is a shared responsibility. We call on the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities. Your cooperation is vital in keeping our communities safe,” Mendez said.

The public may report incidents or seek police assistance through PRO3 hotlines 0998-5985330 and 0917-6235700.

Anchored on the principle “Pulis Central Luzon: Nagbibigay ng Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” PRO3 reaffirmed its commitment to delivering responsive, reliable, and people-centered policing to ensure that every Filipino enjoys a safe and secure summer season. (Jason de Asis)
