DOH Undersecretary Escolango Visits DOH TRC–La Union, Reaffirms Commitment to Health Initiatives

LA UNION — Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Atty. Randy B. Escolango, Ph.D. recently visited the DOH Treatment and Rehabilitation Center–La Union (TRC-LU) to reinforce the agency’s commitment to strengthening health programs and facilities nationwide, particularly those focused on substance use treatment and rehabilitation.

During the visit, Undersecretary Escolango met with the center’s leadership and staff to gain firsthand insights into the facility’s operations, as well as the challenges and accomplishments in delivering treatment and rehabilitation services to patients.

Escolango underscored the DOH’s continuing efforts to ensure accessible and comprehensive healthcare services, emphasizing the vital role of Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers in addressing substance use disorders and other related public health concerns.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss potential areas for enhanced collaboration, improved resource allocation, and policy initiatives aimed at further strengthening patient care and public health services within the TRC-LU catchment area.

The DOH continues to support initiatives that enhance the capacity of rehabilitation centers across the country, ensuring effective and compassionate care for individuals undergoing treatment and recovery.
