DENR Joins FMB Tree-Hugging Campaign to Nurture Central Luzon Forests

PAMPANGA— The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Central Luzon joined the Forest Management Bureau’s (FMB) week-long tree-hugging campaign as part of efforts to raise public awareness on forest protection and environmental preservation.

Led by Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo, along with Assistant Regional Directors for Management Services Gerundio Fernandez and Technical Services Ricky Hernandez, DENR officials and personnel took part in the activity by hugging selected tree species, particularly those known for their healing and medicinal properties.

The initiative underscores DENR’s commitment to environmental stewardship while promoting the connection between healthy forests and human well-being. Through the campaign, the FMB aims to foster a deeper appreciation of nature and highlight the social and health benefits derived from caring for trees.

In line with the celebration of Valentine’s Day, the DENR encouraged the public to embrace trees as a creative and eco-friendly expression of love—emphasizing affection not only for one another, but also for the forests that sustain life and future generations. (pr)
