Government Forces Clash with Armed Group in Bulacan

BULACAN- Government troops under the Joint Task Group (JTG) 7-2 clashed with an undetermined number of armed individuals during a combat clearing operation in Sitio Inuman, Norzagaray, Bulacan, at around 9:25 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025.

According to initial reports, a brief firefight ensued between the military forces and the armed group, forcing the latter to withdraw westward. The troops later conducted clearing operations at the encounter site, where they discovered bloodstains believed to indicate enemy casualties. They also recovered one (1) backpack containing personal belongings left behind by the fleeing suspects.

Authorities said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the province and to deny lawless elements freedom of movement within local communities.

In a statement, Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, Commander of Joint Task Group 7-2 and the 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade, praised the soldiers for their alertness and professionalism during the encounter.

“I commend our troops for their bravery and swift action that prevented potential threats to the safety of our people. This incident reflects our soldiers’ unwavering commitment to protect our communities and uphold peace and stability in the region,” said Brig. Gen. Osias IV.

He further assured the public that pursuit operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing armed elements. The Philippine Army, he emphasized, remains steadfast in fulfilling its mandate to protect the Filipino people and secure the state.

Security forces continue to coordinate with local government units and law enforcement agencies to prevent further incidents and to ensure the safety of residents in Norzagaray and nearby areas. As of this writing, authorities are verifying the identity and affiliation of the armed individuals involved in the encounter. (Jason de Asis)
