The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is currently investigating a reported discovery of alleged Chinese rocket debris along the shoreline of Sitio Bibigsan, Barangay Minabel, Camiguin Island, Calayan, Cagayan on November 2, 2025.
According to reports received by the Coast Guard Intelligence Unit (CGIU) – Calayan, a concerned individuals discovered a metallic debris while trekking to Sitio Morol. The debris was found along the coastal area between Sitio Nambaca, Sitio Bibigsan, and Sitio Dakel A Danum.

Upon receiving the information, personnel from the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Camiguin immediately coordinated with the Maritime Safety Services Unit (MSSU) – North Eastern Luzon (NELZN), local barangay officials, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Calayan, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) to secure and inspect the reported metallic object.
The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) has also directed the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) NELZN – Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) team to proceed to Calayan to supervise and ensure the safe handling of the debris.
All personnel involved in the operation have been instructed to observe strict precautionary measures to avoid potential biohazard or chemical exposure. Local fisherfolk and residents have likewise been advised not to retrieve or come into close contact with the debris until further assessment is completed.
The PCG continues to closely monitor the situation and will issue updates as soon as official findings become available.
