AURORA — Several sections of major roads in Aurora Province remain limited to one-lane traffic following landslides and flooding triggered by continuous rains brought by Typhoon Ramil, according to the latest situation report from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) as of 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Although no typhoon signal is currently raised over the province, cloudy weather conditions persist, affecting the Baler–Casiguran and Maddela–Dinadiawan Roads — two key routes connecting several municipalities in northern Aurora.
In Barangay Dianed and Barangay Dinadiawan in Dipaculao, multiple road segments were reduced to single-lane access due to flooding, debris flow, and landslides. Specifically, portions of the Baler–Casiguran Road at K0271+700 to K0271+730 and K0273+600 to K0273+700 are limited to one lane for heavy vehicles only, while other sections such as K0276+200 to K0276+300 are passable with caution due to debris flow.
Further north in Barangay Ditawini, Dinalungan, several points along the same road — including K0293+450 to K0293+500, K0296+400 to K0296+500, and K0293+940 to K0293+990 — remain one-lane passable due to successive landslides.
Meanwhile, on the Maddela–Dinadiawan Road in Barangay Calaocan and Barangay Dinadiawan, multiple sections (K0419+250 to K0419+300, K0419+970 to K0419+1050, K0422+300 to K0422+380, and K0422+800 to K0422+900) were also reported as one-lane passable due to landslide debris obstructing the road.
According to District Maintenance Engineer Fredelito M. Mingua, clearing operations are ongoing and expected to be completed by Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He said all necessary heavy equipment — including three backhoes, three payloaders, and three dump trucks — are on standby to expedite the clearing process once weather conditions improve.
Mingua urged motorists traveling along affected routes, particularly the Baler–Casiguran and Maddela–Dinadiawan Roads, to exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel in high-risk areas.
Despite the obstructions, all other national roads and bridges across the province remain passable to all types of vehicles, according to the DPWH Aurora DEO.

“Our personnel are on full alert and continuously monitoring road conditions to ensure the safety of all travelers,” Mingua assured.
Meanwhile, Sinagtala Troopers of the 91st Infantry Battalion, together with local responders, launched HADR operations in Barangay Ditawini, Dinalungan, Aurora after a landslide triggered by Typhoon Ramil blocked portions of the road. No casualties were reported as clearing efforts swiftly restored access and ensured the safety of residents and motorists. (Jason de Asis)
