PDEA Seizes PHP163 Million Worth of Shabu in Quezon; 3 Suspects Nabbed

QUEZON — Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated an estimated 25 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at PHP163.2 million and arrested three male suspects during a buy-bust operation conducted on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Barangay Masin Norte, Candelaria, Quezon.

According to PDEA National Capital Region Director Emerson Rosales, the suspects were identified as Jack, 42, and Nor, 31, a tricycle driver from North Cotabato. Their companion, whose identity remains undisclosed pending further investigation, was also apprehended during the operation.

Initial reports revealed that one pack of shabu weighing approximately one kilogram served as the subject of the buy-bust transaction. A subsequent search led to the discovery of 24 additional packs, bringing the total to 25 kilograms of suspected illegal drugs.

Authorities also seized the buy-bust money, a black SUV, two analog phones, an Android phone, and various identification cards from the suspects.

All confiscated evidence has been turned over to the PDEA Laboratory Service for forensic examination. Meanwhile, the arrested individuals are undergoing inquest proceedings for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
