The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) provided medical assistance to an ailing fisherman at the vicinity waters off Bajo de Masinloc on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
The said ailing fisherman, a 32-year-old resident of Subic, Zambales was fishing when he was hit by strong waves resulting him to lose balance and hurt his right leg. He personally approached BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), which was in the area, and requested medical assistance, according to PCG report.
Personnel from the Coast Guard Medical Service and Coast Guard Nursing Service onboard the vessel promptly treated his swollen right leg. After receiving medical assistance, the fisherman returned to his fishing banca and resumed his fishing activities.
