ZAMBALES– The Philippine Navy, through the Philippine Fleet and Naval Installation Command, successfully rescued and towed the fishing vessel FB Moises to Calapandayan Fish Port, Subic, Zambales.
Naval Public Affairs Office Director Capt John Percie Alcos said this is in response to the boat captain’s request for assistance wherein the Philippine Fleet and Naval Installation Command deployed two naval assets — Multi-Purpose Attack Craft (MPAC) BA492 and tugboat YT207, on August 2 to facilitate the rescue and towing operations despite unfavorable weather conditions.
The final towing of FB Moises was completed on Sunday, August 3, with the assistance of MPAC BA488, ensuring the safe transfer of the fishing vessel to Calapandayan Fish Port in Subic, Zambales.
The boat’s captain and 14 crew members were engaged in fishing operations when their vessel suffered engine derangement.
All crew members of the fishing vessel were later confirmed safe and have been provided with appropriate assistance and medical support.
“This successful mission underscores the Philippine Navy’s operational readiness and commitment to safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of Filipino fishermen. It also reflects the Navy’s continued collaboration with local maritime stakeholders in promoting maritime safety and security,” Alcos added.
