PAMPANGA — In a major breakthrough in the intensified anti-drug campaign across Central Luzon, authorities from Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) successfully arrested three high-value individuals (HVIs) and seized more than ₱700,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Zambales and Nueva Ecija.

The first operation was conducted around 10:15 PM on July 28 in Barangay Del Pilar, Castillejos, Zambales, by joint operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Castillejos Municipal Police Station, Zambales 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the Zambales Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).

The coordinated operation led to the arrest of two suspects, identified only as “Steve” and “Son,” both residents of the said barangay. Confiscated during the operation were approximately 55.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱377,400.00.

A few hours later, at around 1:32 AM on July 29, a separate buy-bust operation was carried out by personnel from the Cabanatuan City Police Station (CPS) in Barangay Bantug Norte, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. The suspect, identified as “Kiko,” was apprehended in possession of one medium-sized and one small-sized sachet of suspected shabu, along with ₱1,000 marked money. The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 51.2 grams and were valued at ₱348,160.00.

Police Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., Regional Director of PRO3, commended the operating units for their effective coordination, swift execution, and unwavering commitment to combating illegal drugs.

“These operations demonstrate the continuing resolve of PRO3 to rid our communities of illegal drugs. Under the leadership of PNP Chief General Nicolas D. Torre III, we remain steadfast in our efforts to support the national anti-drug campaign and ensure the safety and well-being of every citizen in Central Luzon,” said Peñones.

Authorities reiterated their call for the public to remain vigilant and to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities in their communities, emphasizing that the fight against illegal drugs requires strong police-community partnership.

The suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165). (Jason de Asis)
