The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) Olongapo & Zambales Chapter and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Zambales Chapter have formed a historic partnership to safeguard journalists’ rights, particularly those covering the West Philippine Sea dispute.
The MOA signing held on January 16 in a fishing village of Calapandayan in Subic town, was attended by NUJP Olongapo & Zambales Chapter Officers, Joanna Rose Aglibot, Chairperson; Dolly Mose, Vice Chairperson; Julie Sionzon, Treasurer and IBP Zambales represented by Atty. Dahlia B. Salamat, President; Atty. Jaklyn Hanna Pineda-Devilla, Legal Aid Committee Chairperson, and Atty. Josefina Bueno, former president.

The memorandum of agreement (MOA) formalizes the collaboration of both parties to provide legal aid, rights education, and advocacy programs to journalists, demonstrates both organizations’ commitment to promote justice, human rights and press freedom.
