ZAMBALES — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the French Navy engaged in a passing exercise (PASSEX) in the waters off Iba, Zambales.
The PCG vessel, BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), and the French Navy’s FS Prairial (F731) participated in a series of operations, including Visit, Board, Search and Seizure, Fire Fighting, and Helicopter Cross-Deck maneuvers. These activities were undertaken to enhance cooperation and interoperability among allied forces by sharing best practices and acquiring vital operational knowledge.
The PASSEX served as a preparatory measure for the BRP Gabriela Silang as it prepares to head to Batanes, where it will deliver food packs and essential non-food items intended for the victims of Super Typhoon #KristinePH.
