Minimum wage earners in Region III (Central Luzon) are set to receive higher wages soon after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) approved a P50 to P66 increase in the daily minimum wage in the region.
To streamline the wage structure, the region’s sectors have been simplified into three main classifications: non-agriculture, agriculture, and retail/service. The approved wage increase, ranging from ₱50 to ₱66, will raise the daily minimum wage in Central Luzon to ₱500-₱550 in the non-agriculture sector, ₱485-₱520 in the agriculture sector, and ₱435-₱540 in retail and service establishments, once all tranches are fully implemented.
The said wage order was submitted for review to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) and was affirmed on September 25, 2024. It was published on October 1, 2024, with the first tranche set to take effect on October 17, 2024. (PR)
