Health caravan, bloodletting held as Fleet’s pre-anniversary activities

ZAMBALES– Two activities aimed at promoting health and wellness which is part of the preliminary activities preluding the commemoration of the Philippine Fleet (PF)’s 86th founding anniversary in April were held at Naval Operating Base Subic in Zambales.

Conducting this activity in anticipation of the PF anniversary was a timely endeavor to raise health awareness and address prevalent health concerns among Fleet personnel. The health caravan serves as a vital platform for disseminating health information, offering medical services, and facilitating early disease detection.

Also held was the bloodletting activity for the purpose of contributing to the local blood supply — a critical component of the healthcare system as it provides a lifeline for patients in need of transfusions due to medical emergencies, surgeries, or chronic conditions.

“By promoting blood donation within the community, the Fleet not only supports existing healthcare infrastructure but also fosters a sense of solidarity and altruism among participants,” the statement said.

The pre-anniversary activities highlight the Command’s dedication to proactively promote and advocate for community health while demonstrating the transformative power of collective action with stakeholders toward having healthier and more resilient fleet personnel.
