GMEC & GNPD offer immediate relief to Bataenos affected by Typhoons Egay & Falcon 

BATAAN–In a combined effort of GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) and GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co (GMEC), a total of 2,190 relief packs worth more than P1-M were donated to the Local Government of Mariveles, and Provincial Government of Bataan, as it declared the state of calamity due to the onslaught of Typhoon Egay, Typhoon Falcon, and Habagat. 

The first leg of relief goods was distributed last July 29, in partnership with the Local Government of Mariveles through Mayor AJ Concepcion to reach out the affected residents of the plants’ host communities. To further foster assistance, GMEC and GNPD CSR team, and employee volunteers visited the municipality of Morong as directed by the Provincial Governor on August 2 to give out another set of relief packages for the distressed fisherfolks. 

This initiative has been the practice of GMEC and GNPD in adhering the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. roadmap: Protect marine life, Reforest land, Optimize wealth from waste, Generate livelihood skills and income, Rehabilitate social infrastructure, Elevate Educational opportunities, Safeguard quality health access, Strengthen Disaster Resiliency. Focusing on the last S, it displays the companies’ strong commitment to enable the spirit of helping one another in times of calamities and disaster and enhancing volunteerism among employees. (PR)
