PASIG CITY – A Malaysian-Chinese national was apprehended for claiming two kilos of ketamine worth Php 10,000,000.00 following a controlled delivery operation at The Currency, Emerald St., Corner J. Vargas on Tuesday night (January 31).
Authorities identified the arrested suspect as THAI LIAN SHIONG (Malaysian-Chinese ) male, 24 yrs old, single, and a resident of The Currency Residence, Julia Vargas, Ortigas, Pasig City.
Anti-drug operatives said that the ketamine emanated from Malaysia and arrived at the Port of Clark last January 28, 2023.
“The package containing the illegal substance was concealed inside three acupoint massage twister”, said PDEA Team Leader.
Confiscated during the operation were 24 pieces of transparent plastic pouches containing more or less two (2) kilos of ketamine; and one (1) cellular phone.
The operation was jointly conducted by operatives led by PDEA Pampanga, Clark International Airport Drug Inter-Agency Task Group, Bureau of Customs- Port of Clark, PDEA NCR, PDEA CALABARZON, NBI CELRO, NBI Pampanga and the local police.
A charge for violation of section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the arrested claimant/consignee.
